I've got gadgets and junk up to my knees, but it's just like finding buried treasure to me...

Huh huh...buried treasure...huh huh.

You've got a license plate, it says "I Love My Cat."

Another update in colour. This is another cartoon I did for the paper earlier this year (2006), and coloured just for fun. Because I don't FINISH anything anymore, and that annoys the hell out of me. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?! :P

Our words are scattered in a sea of chatter.

Yet more ridiculous sketches for your viewing "pleasure." I'm never going to get anywhere with this, am I? Billy would appear to be thinking the same thing. But seriously, I plan on finishing both of these in the not-too-distant future. The one of Spill Fector falling is ready to be traced and inked. I have no idea what's going on in that picture, really. By the way, if he looks freakishly tall, it's because...he is. I've never tried drawing a size comparison chart with him in it, but I'm fairly certain he's the tallest character in the story.

Slighty-amusing anecdote: I called the community radio station CFCR this morning and asked if they would play something by the Fall. The guy had no idea who I was talking about, but he said he'd look. He ended up playing "Hey Student" from Middle Class Revolt, one of my favourite Fall albums. For some reason most everyone else hates that one...so, rock on, CFCR dude!

I was thinking about Edgefest about an hour ago. I don't know why. It ties in with music though. It's a large outdoor Canadian rock music festival that, as far as I know, is still held every year on Canada Day in Barrie, Ontario. What a lot of people probably don't realise is that it used to tour all across Canada. Anyway, I used to be totally obsessed with it and it was the one thing I looked forward to the most each year. It's funny that it stopped touring around the same time I grew out of it...

God doesn't always have the best goddamn plans, does he?

Another update. In COLOUR! Um, this is a picture of MES turning into a werewolf. For no reason other than Paul told me to. No, but seriously, I bought this anthology of a comic called Werewolf By Night for Paul. I read most of it myself and enjoyed it immensely. So, that is the REAL reason for this picture's existence.

Paul also found an article online about indie record stores closing left and right. It depressed me so much that I went and bought three CDs at one of the small stores here yesterday:

1) Sufjan Stevens - Come On Feel The Illinoise. Coincidentally, Kelly bought this today. I feel like I've already listened to it twice, which, of course, I have, because they played it over the PA at the Arcade Fire shows in Saskatoon AND Edmonton. But it's very good.
2) Copyright - Love Story. Copyright are an old defunct Canadian band that you've probably never heard of. I actually saw them live in 1998 at a large outdoor festival, and have absolutely no recollection of their performance. So why did I buy this, then? Well, a couple of weeks ago, for NO reason at all, I remembered their single "Transfiguration." And I remember hating that song when it first came out. But NOW I thought to myself "That song was actually pretty good." Is that not the stupidest thing you've ever heard? That I can suddenly decide I like a song I once hated after not even having HEARD it in years? Anyways...
3) American Lesion, Greg Graffin's solo album. Which I believe I paid $12 (Canadian) for. But look at how much it's worth!!! I'm almost HOPING I won't like it, just so I can flog it for over three times what I paid at some point in the future. Kickass!

I'm born, I'm bored, I'm not at all, this city needs an overhaul.

Oh my god, I updated again. Will wonders never cease? Because these aren't that interesting, (like ALL my shitty sketches I post, it seems) I shall upload two to compensate. Uh...that doesn't make any sense, does it? Sorry. I'm not into making sense, I guess.

Anyway, these are drawings I made of my classmates in life drawing (but they don't look much like the people they're supposed to be, so don't worry).

Remember when I said I don't drink coffee? Well, I do now. I gave up and followed the crowd; it was impossible to avoid this time. It's AMAZING what a boost it gives you, and how long that coffee buzz lasts. The trouble is that I still hate the way it tastes, and I don't know the difference between good and bad coffee, because to me, it's ALL bad. I still only have it about twice a week, tops, because I don't want to build up a tolerance to it. (Ahh, I'm rambling about nothing again, but that's kind of what blogs are FOR, isn't it?)

The blast from the cannon was more than they could take.

Hello. I should be working on storyboard, or perhaps my cartoon for the paper, right now. Instead I am wasting time on the internet. Again. Yay! Here's something I drew at about the same time as the drawing in the last post....please ignore the ill-served and very much off-model Seth.

Listening too long to one song...

I drew this last week while half-watching TV and it took way too long... (partly because my damn pen kept clogging...) Too bad they're just standing there in a white void, doing absolutely nothing. And I forgot to draw Billy's scarf on his leg again...D'OH!!!

But at least Martin looks really cool. I've been wanting to draw him with that hat for a long time. I think he's my favourite character right now... ;p
