And in a fortnight they'll know everything about us / Our brightest qualities, our cruelest lies / Recording all our noise for nothing.

Page 25. About time. I'm always looking for excuses to do weird shit like this on a page, but it doesn't happen very often...

Rolling blackouts / Put out the light / Let the sun go down / Bring on the night.

A drawing of Billy, rather ineptly coloured. You're probably looking at that brownish-grey stuff in the background right about now and going "What the hell?!" Um...but it isn't THAT bad, I guess.

So, he's making the match levitate in the air. I like the word "levitate." It should remind me of the Fall album Levitate, but actually it always reminds me of an old I Mother Earth song. See, that's because I just put a bunch of terrible Canadian alterna-rock from the 90s on my iPoo. I accept that I will never be cool.

"Dear dope: If you want to catch us, you need a rod and a line. Signed, The Fish."

Weird "Fan" Art, part 3. Zombie Odie & Garfield! In case you couldn't tell, I really, really hate Garfield. It used to be funny, though, and the old animated series was surprisingly well done (but I haven't seen it for years, so it's probably not as good as I remember).

And another weird sketch page with lots of stupid-looking animals and space-filling doodles. Then again, I suppose everything in my sketchbook is a space-filling doodle...Lately I also seem to be drawing everything facing to the left...how annoying...

When I hear that howl, I get the cold cold chills! / (Doesn't do much for my gall bladder, I must say!)

Weird Fan Art, part 2. Bugs Bunny with bad acne, a suit, and a guitar. Can you guess who he's supposed to be? Nope! Me neither! The answer is Paul Banks from Interpol, the stupidest band in the world. I mean..."Subway is a porno"? "Catatonic sex toy"? What the fuck? Surely those horrid lines of lyrics weren't meant to be taken seriously....??

I drew this because Roz (my These Days co-writer) used to say that Paul Banks sounded like Bugs Bunny. Hmm, perhaps the reason that I never drew it back THEN was because it was a stupid idea for a drawing, and it's just not funny no matter what? And it becomes less funny the more I explain it? Yes, that's right. Oh, well.

You know where they keep angels? Heaven, that's where.

Welcome to Weird Fan Art, Part 1.
I had a dream about this years ago. It was so long ago that I don't even remember when it was, and I've been meaning to draw it ever since. Ladies and gentlemen, may I finally present to you: Steve Albini as a Simpsons character!
Now, if I can just arrange Joy Division's "Atmosphere" for piano, since I had a dream about that as well, a number of years ago. I actually wish I had these interesting, creative dreams more often... :(

They invented the vanishing point / Vikings painted in three dimensions.

(I'm thrilled there's actually a song that mentions both the horizon line and the vanishing point. Hee hee hee!!)

This is a phenomenally weird drawing of Cynthia & Seth. It makes no sense whatsoever in the context of the comic. I just drew it because I felt like it. And because I wanted to colour something, but oh, how bright & garish it is! And I was trying my hardest to NOT make it bright & garish! :(

Hey, I'd actually appreciate some critiques on this if anybody's got a minute... (Because Seth is freakishly tall, I see.)

Sound the horn / Make the bed / Pull the cord / Raise the dead.

Page 24. This one includes a really crummy Max Ernst tribute! Hooray! And overall the whole thing is crummy, but at least it is DONE and I can MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ONE, and hopefully THAT one will be better. RIGHT? Right.

I do quite like the drawing of Seth (yes, it is supposed to be Seth) in the third panel. I should do more stuff in that style. Stippling is cool.
